Job summary

Fathers & Families Support Center in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist the CFO with daily invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, and a variety of accounting duties in a nonprofit setting.

You will enter payables and receivables, process invoices, code expenses to the general ledger, reconcile accounts, assist with budgets and forecasting, and support grant management. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and experience with Peachtree are preferred.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of accounting principles.
• Experience with accounting software and databases.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency.
• Must provide accurate data entry and clerical skills.
• Understanding NASW Code of Ethics is preferred.
• 1–2 years accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter all accounts payable and receivable.
• Process daily, weekly, and monthly invoices.
• Code expenses to general ledger accounts daily.
• Record and verify accounting transactions and codes.
• Assist with grant management responsibilities.
• Reconcile accounts and assist in reporting.
• Assist with budgets and financial forecasting.
• Use accounting software to record and analyze information.
• Data entry, filing, and related duties in accounting.
