KellyMitchell is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant for our St. Louis corporate office.

The role supports daily accounting operations, including customer billing, collections, vendor invoicing, customer account setup, and month‑end close, working with Accounting, Sales, Operations and Logistics teams in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate has an accounting/finance degree, strong knowledge of debits/credits, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
• Good understanding of debits, credits, and how transactions flow into financial statements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and email customer invoices accurately and on time
• Review billing details and maintain the supporting documentation needed for complete customer records
• Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and payment status
• Respond professionally to account questions and help resolve discrepancies that delay payment
• Enter vendor invoices accurately, maintain organized accounts payable records, and follow up on missing information or invoice questions
• Gather the documentation needed to establish new customer accounts
• Assist with collecting and reviewing information used to determine or update customer credit limits
• Prepare customer checks and related payment information for deposit processing
• Maintain complete and accurate records of incoming payments
• Assist with reconciliations, transaction review, and other accounting tasks to help the team meet reporting deadlines
• Keep invoice, deposit, payment, and account documentation accurate and organized
• Work with internal departments, customers, and vendors to resolve questions and identify opportunities to improve accounting accuracy
