Job summary

The McPherson Companies, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to handle general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

You will serve as the primary Fixed Asset Accountant, overseeing asset tracking, depreciation, and asset life cycle with support from the Controller and Senior Accountants. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in accounting, 2+ years' experience, and strong Excel skills; CPA/MBA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Experience with complex ERP systems (Oracle/JD Edwards a plus).
• Strong Excel skills and ability to create process efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting, reporting and analysis for assigned units.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile cash accounts monthly and assist with month-end close.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting lifecycle, depreciation and disposals.
• Support Controller and senior staff for audits and annual budget prep.
