Job summary

Teachers Federal Credit Union is seeking a Regular Full Time Accountant to perform basic accounting duties in line with credit union policy and GAAP guidelines. The role requires a 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance and supports a growing nationwide operation.

The position involves analyzing and reconciling ledger accounts, preparing financial data for monthly close, and coordinating with other departments to resolve issues, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reports and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum one year of accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyses, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records in accordance with GAAP and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
• Resolves general ledger/operational issues with other departments as necessary.
• Compiles financial data to assist more senior accountants in ensuring a timely and accurate monthly close of the general ledger.
• Reconciles member financial activity systems to the general ledger.
• Prepares ATM and ITM operational reconciliations on a daily and monthly cadence and provides manager with additional feedback as needed.

Summary

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum one year of accounting experience preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzes, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records in accordance with GAAP and other applicable laws and regulations
• Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
• Resolves general ledger/operational issues with other departments as necessary
• Compiles financial data to assist more senior accountants in ensuring a timely and accurate monthly close of the general ledger
• Reconciles member financial activity systems to the general ledger
• Handles operational aspects of certain member financial transaction types
• Prepares ATM and ITM operational reconciliations on a daily and monthly cadence and provides manager with additional feedback as needed.
• Accurately and timely process return items and any other applicable transactions
• Assist in preparing various financial reports for management
• Utilize accounting system for reconciliations, document retention, and reporting
• Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor

The good faith range for this position is $25.25 - $30.25 per hour . This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
