Job summary

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting.

• Some variance, flux, or financial statement analysis.
• Clear writing and communication about the numbers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for a clean general ledger.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Perform variance analysis on revenue, inventory and operating expenses with explanations.
• Prepare commentary for the monthly financial reporting package.
• Analyze margins and cost drivers with operations, FP&A, and supply chain.
• Handle inventory accounting and cost analysis in an international sourcing environment
• Provide data and historical analysis for budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation in reporting.

A private equity backed consumer automotive products brand is growing fast. It sells online, through major retailers, and through wholesale distribution. The finance team is building out, and leadership wants accounting to explain the numbers, not just book them.

This Staff Accountant runs core GL work and gets real analysis work on top of it. You'll own entries and reconciliations, help close the books, and explain what moved in revenue, inventory, and costs. You'll work with FP&A and supply chain on margins and cost drivers. Most staff seats stop at the GL. This one doesn't.

What you'll own

• Journal entries, account reconciliations, and a clean general ledger
• Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close support
• Variance analysis on revenue, inventory, and operating expenses, with clear explanations
• Commentary for the monthly financial reporting package
• Margin and cost driver analysis with operations, supply chain, and FP&A
• Inventory accounting and cost analysis in an international sourcing environment
• Data and historical analysis for budgets and forecasts
• Process improvement and automation in reporting

What you bring

• Hybrid: in office Tuesday and Wednesday in the Willowbrook area
• Base $65,000 to $80,000 plus annual bonus
