Job summary

Vernovis is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced General Ledger team in Cincinnati, OH. This entry-level to early-career role offers exposure to corporate-level accounting processes within a high-volume construction environment.

You will work with three Senior Accountants, gaining skills toward a Senior Accountant position as capability grows. A recent graduate or professional with 1–2 years of experience is encouraged to apply, with mentorship and formal growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience (internships or entry-level roles considered).
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; capable of meeting multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process and record cash transactions and prepare routine journal entries in the General Ledger.
• Perform monthly reconciliations across about 600 balance sheet accounts.
• Support corporate-level accounting activities (general liability insurance, workers’ compensation, health insurance).
• Assist in reallocating and improving reconciliation workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Senior Accountants to ensure timely month-end close.
