Job summary

Roeslein & Associates in Missouri seeks a Staff Accountant to support project and corporate accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash entries, A/R and A/P, and assisting with month-end close and audits.

The role collaborates with Accounting Managers, Directors, and project teams to ensure compliance and ongoing process improvements, with limited travel (<10%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and labor hours and GL impact.
• Familiarity with billing, cash receipts, and their effect on financial statements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Liaise between Project Managers and Accounting for project cost tracking, billing, and reporting.
• Process job cost adjustments and maintain job cost reports for financial statements.
• Schedule and participate in monthly projection meetings; maintain notes and follow up on action items.
• Review monthly revenue, gross profit margins, variances, and summarize findings for leadership.
• Provide general ledger direction to AR/AP teams as needed.
• Record inventory transfers and prepare monthly entries for prepaids and accruals.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Support annual audit preparation and cross-functional knowledge development.
