Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support Accounting Operations in Urbandale, Iowa. This is an individual contributor role requiring independent work with minimal supervision and ownership of accounting processes and projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting/finance experience, analytical and problem-solving skills, communication skills, and process improvement experience. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Experience in accounting operations, finance operations, or a similar transaction-processing environment.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end processes or projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage accounting tasks, priorities, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Own end-to-end accounting processes and projects, including planning, milestones, progress monitoring, and timely completion.
• Analyze complex accounting and operational issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
• Conduct detailed analysis and evaluate scenarios to determine actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, procedures, and efficiency.
• Develop and communicate recommendations to improve operational practices.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and other teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and vendors when applicable.
• Provide guidance, training, and coaching to peers and junior team members.
• Share accounting best practices and knowledge to improve team performance.
• Monitor the effectiveness of process improvements using KPIs.
• Collaborate across teams to align activities with business needs.
