Job summary

Coast Southwest, Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, timely billing, and efficient transaction processing.

You will partner with the Finance team and business leaders to support operational and financial goals, perform journal entries, reconciliations, and prepare reports. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s in accounting or finance, strong Excel skills, and GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or business with accounting emphasis) required.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience in public or private sectors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
• Ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
• Manage customer billing and ensure timely invoices.
• Administer customer refunds including approvals and documentation.
• Prepare, review, and process wire transfers.
• Maintain fixed asset records and related reconciliations.
• Assist with plant financial reports and cost center variance analysis.
• Provide daily sales projection reports to management.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Support audits and internal controls compliance.
• Participate in ad hoc accounting, reporting and process improvements.
• Collaborate across departments on cross-functional projects and system enhancements.
