Job summary

7-Eleven in Irving, TX is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the monthly close, prepare journal entries, analyze financial data, and assist with reconciliations. This role collaborates with various business partners to support reporting, forecasting, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of experience, and progressing toward CPA certification, with strong Excel and ERP skills to contribute to accurate financial statements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and accruals.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain significant fluctuations and trends.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and management reporting packages.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statement footnotes, disclosures, and other supplemental reporting schedules for quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audits, financial reviews, and documentation requests.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as needed.
• Review and interpret agreements or transactions for potential accounting and financial reporting implications.
