Job summary

Security National Mortgage Company seeks a detail-oriented accounting professional to maintain ledgers, prepare journal entries, and support monthly close processes. You will help with budgets, internal audits, and vendor payments while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and numeracy skills, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or 5 years experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
• Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
• Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conduct internal audits.
• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Assist the accounting manager as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
