Job summary

Green Brick Partners is seeking a Staff Accountant in Plano, TX to support accounting operations for Green Brick Title and exposure to corporate accounting, mortgage, treasury, and SEC reporting functions.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, support monthly/quarterly reporting, and assist with audits and SEC tie-outs. 1+ year of accounting experience and a BS in Accounting/Finance are required; proficiency in Excel and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 1+ year of accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare relevant journal entries timely and accurately to meet accounting close schedules.
• Prepare and maintain monthly journal entries for the GRBK Title Qualia Escrow Account process.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Perform control activities and maintain documentation per internal control framework.
• Assist in the preparation of internal monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Manage ad-hoc requests from Green Brick Title/Green Brick Mortgage operations teams and corporate management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Prioritize work to meet deadlines related to vendor payments, close, external reporting, and internal reporting.
• Provide backup support for Treasury Operations and cash management activities.
• Serve as backup for Mortgage Accounting and Finance Operations tasks.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of audit documentation and SEC reporting tie-out.
