Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely financial reporting. You will assist with general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and collaborate with the finance team.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 1–3 years of accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge, Excel, and ERP system proficiency. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
• Complete ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed.
