Job summary

Coulee Bank is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and maintain day-to-day accounting operations. You will report to the CFO and handle AP, credit card reconciliations, biweekly payroll, journal entries, and month-end close for multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in a bank/financial institution with a structured monthly close.
• Strong Excel skills; Jack Henry SilverLake a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Clear communication and collaborative approach with colleagues and vendors.
• Initiative, accountability and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable: review/coding invoices, approvals, vendor records, discrepancies.
• Administer company credit cards and reconcile activity.
• Initiate biweekly payroll processing and reconcile healthcare accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for multiple entities.
• Maintain fixed asset records and related documentation.
• Assist CFO with financial statements, year-end activities, regulatory reporting, and audits.
• Help improve accounting procedures and monthly close processes.
• Provide confidential, professional service following Bank policies and controls.
