MTS Systems Corporation, based in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking a Staff Accountant focused on transactional tax and Accounts Receivable. The role emphasizes accuracy, process discipline, and collaboration within the accounting team.

You will support month-end close, manage tax compliance, and maintain licenses while leveraging ERP tools and tax software to ensure precise financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 2-year accounting or related degree.
• Fundamental knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting concepts.
• 0–5 years of accounts receivable with exposure to general accounting and sales tax.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication across functions and levels.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly sales and use tax reports for U.S. and Canada.
• Maintain tax notices, records, returns, and exemption certificates.
• Prepare, file, and pay business property tax for assets assigned to field personnel.
• Manage business licenses and applicable compliance documentation.
• Process customer invoices and provide statements on request.
• Communicate past due balances and collect payments.
• Process customer credit card payments.
• Assist month-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies for AR or transactional tax balances.
• Support SOX controls and external audit readiness.
• Document internal controls and audits support requirements.
• Analyze and simplify finance processes using ITW Toolbox and 80/20.
