• Assist with monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries and accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Perform general ledger reviews and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial statement analysis and reporting.
• Verify and process invoices to ensure timely payment of accounts payable.
• Maintain records of financial transactions per company policies.
• Track capital purchases, fixed assets, and depreciation entries.

About the Role

Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will play an essential role in supporting the financial health and integrity of the organization. This entry-level accounting position focuses on day-to-day financial activities, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting monthly and year-end close processes. You'll work closely with other members of the accounting team to ensure financial accuracy, support compliance, and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the department.

Position Logistics

• Primary Work Location: West Fargo, ND Corporate Office
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | Standard Hours
• Work Type: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Position Responsibilities

• Assist with timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries and accruals, ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Perform general ledger reviews and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly financial statement analysis and reporting

Accounts Payable & Transactional Support

• Verify and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment of accounts payable
• Ensure proper coding and allocation of expenses to the appropriate accounts
• Maintain records of financial transactions in accordance with company policies

Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting

• Track capital purchases, fixed assets, and building improvements
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and ensure proper depreciation entries
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with legal and internal standards
• Monitor and support accounting procedures within assigned departments
• Identify and recommend opportunities for improving accounting processes
• Prepare special financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
