We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our thriving construction company. This role is crucial to our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and providing essential financial analysis and insights to our management team. Responsibilities
  • Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
  • Managing the month‑end closing process, including preparing financial statements and other reports.
  • Handling all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, making payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts, and identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Providing accounting support for commercial real estate transactions, including preparing financial analysis and reports.
  • Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, and staying up‑to‑date with the latest accounting practices and principles.
  • Collaborating with other team members and departments to improve financial processes and systems.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
  • Proven experience with preparing journal entries, managing month‑end closing processes, handling accounts payable and receivable, maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts, and commercial real estate accounting.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel, and experience with accounting software.
