Job summary

CFS, a stable Midwest-based organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant in Wisconsin. This full-time opportunity offers a salary between $55,000 and $65,000 and a strong benefits package within a well-run company with growth potential.

You will work with a collaborative accounting team, perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries for prepaid expenses and fixed assets, review AP, assist AR, maintain the general ledger, and support month-end close to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to accounts payable and accounts receivable, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Record journal entries related to prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and capitalization activities
• Review and audit accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate coding and expense classification
• Analyze invoices and expenditures to confirm proper accounting treatment
• Assist with accounts receivable cash application and cross-train within AR functions
• Maintain familiarity with select customer accounts to support continuity within receivables
• Support general ledger maintenance and month-end close activities
• Partner with internal departments to ensure financial information is complete and accurate
