Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable including vouching, check runs, approvals, and invoice processing.
• Support general ledger close activities; ensure accurate transaction recording and analyze variances.
• Support cost and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations with documentation.
• Develop monthly financial analysis supporting internal/external reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Assist with fixed assets management including CIP tracking, depreciation, and audits.

Description

Staff Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset management. This role is integral to the monthly close process and ensuring adherence to GAAP throughout the general ledger.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payables incl, vouching, check runs, approvals, and invoice / pack slip repositories
• Support general ledger close activities; ensure accurate transaction recording; analyze financial statements and investigate variances.
• Support cost and inventory accounting for manufacturing operations.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations with thorough documentation.
• Develop monthly financial analysis supporting internal and external reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage fixed assets, including CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and periodic audits.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Support internal/external audit activities
• Ensure adherence to SOX controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and drive process improvements.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
• Back up to AR

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred
• 3-4 years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Public accounting experience a plus

Work Environment

Fully remote position supporting the Sioux Falls, SD office. Standard hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM-2:00PM Friday. Flexibility required during month-end close. Duties include computer use, document handling, and occasional light lifting. Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Some travel to site may be required throughout the year.
