Job summary

Empath Health in Sarasota, FL is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. The Accountant will prepare financial statements, reconcile ledgers, and support grant reporting for Empath Health and its affiliates.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 3 years of progressive general ledger experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel. Workday experience is highly preferred and not-for-profit healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 3+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience in healthcare or not-for-profit preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; Workday preferred.

Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. The Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and other general ledger-related reconciliations and reporting for Empath Health and its’ Affiliates, and is responsible for certain regulatory compliance including, but not limited to State and Federal tax returns, Federal and State cost reports and Federal, State and Local grant reporting.
