Job summary

Empath Health in Florida is seeking a Senior Accountant to strengthen the finance team. You will ensure accurate financial reporting across a multi-entity healthcare organization, lead consolidations, overhead allocations, and GL activity, while partnering with leadership to drive financial stewardship.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting, 5+ years of GL experience (healthcare preferred), strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and Workday experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience (healthcare preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; Workday experience is required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reconciliations.
• Lead consolidations, overhead allocations, accrual analysis, and GL activity.
• Support regulatory compliance including cost reports, grant reporting, audits, and tax filings.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and controls.
• Perform detailed financial analysis and research complex accounting issues.
• Provide guidance and QA for GL staff.
