A family of funds is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage daily transactions and assist with monthly closes. The role emphasizes cash entry, accounts payable, and intercompany invoicing across multiple legal entities. Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant for Scaleworks family of funds as well as some of the operational companies in the portfolio. This role will be responsible for daily transaction entry including cash, accounts payable invoicing and journal entries. They will participate in the monthly close and assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed. The role reports directly to the Controller of the fund.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily cash, credit card and accounts payable transaction entry in multiple legal entities
• Prepare accurate bank and account reconciliations for monthly closes
• Generate intercompany invoices and reconcile due to/from amounts
• Perform journal entries with supporting documentation and schedules
• Engage professionally with senior staff and asking questions when needed to ensure accurate recording
• Follow accounting policies and comply with internal control procedures
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency
• Maintain a high level of accuracy
• Interact with senior leadership of operational companies
  
  

Requirements

The successful candidate will be charismatic, collaborative, and have strong organizational skills to manage multiple legal entities and business priorities. Ideal candidates will have two to five years of accounting experience.

• Live in, or can relocate to, San Antonio, Texas
• BS in Accounting
• Strong understanding of US GAAP accrual accounting method
• Advanced MS Excel skills including xlookup functions & pivot tables
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Transparent communicator and proactive approach to business issues
• Strong work ethic and flexibility to changing priorities
• Excellent organizational skills with strong follow up
• Curious by nature with a sense of urgency
