Job summary

St. Cloud Financial Credit Union in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, is seeking an analytical accounting professional to join our team. You will work with financial data, improve processes, and grow your accounting career while supporting a wide range of accounting operations.

Key responsibilities include posting journal entries, assisting month-end close and audits, performing reconciliations, using Excel for large data sets, and helping with cash management and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive mindset with a desire to learn, improve processes, and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, expenses, investments, fixed assets, prepaids, and other general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts and operational systems, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Analyze financial data, identify variances, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records.
• Utilize Excel to analyze large data sets, prepare reconciliations, and develop meaningful reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and create efficiencies within accounting operations.
• Reconcile and record daily settlement activity for ACH, debit cards, credit cards, ATM/ITM transactions, mobile deposits, and other payment channels.
• Support cash management, wire activity, and other operational accounting functions.
• Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and corporate card transactions accurately and timely.
• Maintain supporting documentation and assist with accounting schedules, audits, and examiner requests.

What You'll Do
