Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a client in the aviation sector. This on-site role is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, offering an hourly pay rate of 27 to 31 dollars and room for growth within a growing organization.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP). You will handle AP/AR duties, assist with month-end close, and help improve financial processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities including invoice review, coding, payment processing, vendor communication, and discrepancy resolution.
• Coordinate accounts receivable by generating customer billing, posting payments, and following up on balances.
• Research and resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies with internal departments.
• Support account reconciliations and subsidiary ledger balancing across AP, AR, and GL.
• Assist with month-end close and audit preparation in line with policies and standards.
• Contribute to process improvements and provide financial reporting support.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities, including invoice review, coding, payment processing, vendor communication, and discrepancy resolution while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Coordinate accounts receivable functions by generating customer billing, posting payments, monitoring account activity, and following up on outstanding balances and payment-related inquiries
• Research and resolve vendor and customer account discrepancies, partnering with internal departments to address billing issues, short payments, credits, and account adjustments in a timely manner
• Support account reconciliations and subsidiary ledger balancing to ensure accuracy across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger records
• Assist with month-end close and audit preparation by compiling financial documentation, validating transactions, and maintaining compliance with internal accounting policies and reporting standards
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements by maintaining organized records, supporting workflow efficiencies, and assisting with financial and operational reporting needs
