Job summary

CFS in South Orlando, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance team. This on-site role provides broad exposure to monthly close, sales accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger functions within a stable organization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in homebuilding or construction.

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with sales accounting, invoices, expenses, and account analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the monthly financial close, including journal entries, account analysis, and supporting reports.
• Prepare and maintain sales journal entries, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unresolved, unusual, or aging items.
• Prepare recurring financial and accounting reports for management.
• Review invoices for appropriate coding, documentation, and processing.
• Work with operational and land teams to address purchase orders, account coding, and accounting questions.
• Review employee expense activity and assist with related reconciliations.
• Monitor company credit card transactions and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and research discrepancies as they arise.
• Assist with special accounting projects, reporting requests, and other initiatives as needed.

• Hands‑on experience with journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Familiarity with sales accounting, invoice processing, expense reporting, and account analysis
• Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities
• Experience working with accounting software and/or ERP systems
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
