Job summary

CFS in Orlando, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a well-established organization supporting a diverse portfolio of clients. You'll gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, fund accounting, budgeting, audits, reconciliations, and client relationship management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close.
  • Government, fund accounting, professional services, or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
  • Perform account reconciliations, financial analyses, and variance investigations.
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor management.
  • Support accounts receivable, billing, collections, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Monitor budgets and support ongoing financial planning activities.
  • Research accounting discrepancies, maintain internal controls, and support process improvements.
  • Communicate with clients and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
