Staff Accountant

Location: New York, NY

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000

Job Description

237 Global is looking for a Staff Accountant who loves getting into the details and wants to do it in an industry that moves fast. We’re a growing entertainment company supporting artists, tours, and live events with VIP experiences and more. We’re looking for someone who can help keep the numbers moving just as smoothly as the business.

In this role, you’ll be hands-on with account reconciliations, expense tracking, financial reporting, and month-end close, while working closely with our finance and operations teams across a variety of projects and entities.

We’re looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and a natural curiosity about how the numbers come together. You should be comfortable working in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel, able to juggle competing priorities, and confident enough to investigate when something doesn’t look right.

Entertainment experience is a big plus, but it’s not a requirement. What matters most is that you’re organized, analytical, dependable, and excited to be part of a team where the work is varied, the pace is quick, and there’s always something new happening.

Responsibilities
  • Keep the numbers in check: Assist with bank, credit card, intercompany, and other account reconciliations, making sure everything ties out and discrepancies are investigated.
  • Stay on top of the details: Track expenses, maintain supporting documentation, and help ensure transactions are accurate, properly coded, and easy to follow.
  • Support the close: Support monthly and year-end close processes, working with the finance team to keep deadlines on track.
  • Track the details: Track project-level revenue, expenses, and profitability across artist tours, shows, VIP experiences, and other entertainment projects, while supporting day-to-day A/R and A/P activity.
  • Maintain accurate records: Maintain accurate, organized financial records in NetSuite and other accounting systems, and help make sure the information we rely on is complete and up to date.
  • Be part of the team: Work closely with the finance and operations teams, jump into new projects as they come up, and help solve problems when things don’t go exactly according to plan.
Qualifications
  • Accounting foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with 1-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong with the basics: Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles and how the pieces fit together.
  • Comfort with the tools: Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented by nature: You notice when something doesn’t look right, care about accuracy, and aren’t afraid to dig a little deeper to figure it out.
  • Organized and dependable: Able to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • A team player who can work independently: Comfortable taking ownership of your work while knowing when to ask questions, collaborate, or pull someone else in.
  • A problem solver: Strong communication skills, good judgment, and a willingness to figure things out when the answer isn’t immediately obvious.
  • Curious and adaptable: Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and projects—and willing to jump in wherever the team needs support.
Preferred Skills
  • NetSuite experience: You’ve worked in NetSuite before and are comfortable finding your way around an ERP system.
  • Project-based accounting experience: You’ve worked with accounting that follows individual projects, events, clients, or productions.
  • Entertainment industry knowledge: Familiarity with tour accounting, artist settlements, production expenses, merchandise, or entertainment-related financial reporting is a plus.
  • Music and live entertainment experience: A background in music, entertainment, touring, live events, or a related industry is definitely helpful but not required.
  • Curiosity about the business: You’re interested in understanding more than just the debits and credits and want to see how the financial side connects to the artists, projects, and events behind the business.
