StevenDouglas is seeking a Senior Accountant in the New York metro area. This on-site role involves owning core month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting across multiple entities, with exposure to corporate and project-level accounting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting (preferably entertainment or project-based), solid GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with a cloud-based ERP.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of accounting experience in entertainment/live events or project-based accounting.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with a modern ERP platform.
• Highly organized and self-directed, able to meet deadlines during audits and budgets.
• Ability to work in-office four to five days per week.

Responsabilités

• Lead monthly close: journal entries, accruals, supporting schedules for corporate and entity books.
• Reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts; investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce financial reports and variance analyses for entity-level and company-wide results.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and documentation in the cloud-based ERP.
• Serve as main contact for outside auditors and tax advisors, assembling schedules and responses.
• Identify manual processes to streamline the finance function and partner with teams to deliver timely information.

StevenDouglas is partnering with a growing, multi-entity organization in the entertainment industry, is looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to strengthen its corporate and project-level accounting.

Working closely with accounting leadership, you’ll own core close, reconciliation, and reporting work across a portfolio of separate business units.

This is a strong next step for an accountant who wants broader exposure, a modernizing finance function, and room to grow in a primarily on-site (4 days) New York metro role.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive key pieces of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules for both corporate and individual entity books.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of cash and balance sheet accounts, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Produce financial reports and variance analyses that give leadership clear visibility into entity-level and company-wide results.
• Keep the general ledger accurate and well documented within the company’s cloud-based ERP.
• Serve as a key point of contact for outside auditors and tax advisors, assembling schedules, documentation, and responses to requests.
• Help modernize the finance function by identifying manual processes that can be streamlined or automated, and partner with team members across departments to deliver timely, reliable information.

Job Qualifications

• Five or more years of accounting experience, ideally within entertainment/live events or another project-based accounting environment, with exposure to multi-entity structures.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills plus hands-on experience with a modern ERP platform.
• Highly organized and self-directed, able to juggle deadlines and stay accurate during busy periods such as audit and budget season.
• Clear communicator who works comfortably with senior finance leaders and external partners, and is able to be in the office four to five days per week.
