Job summary

Starwood Hotels is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Finance and Accounting team in overseeing AR, end-of-month entries, and P&L closings. The role includes auditing checks, petty cash, and adjustment reports, plus compiling cash over/short and distributing hotel ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AR, EOM entries and P&L closings as part of Finance and Accounting.
• Audit executive checks, petty cash and adjustment reports daily.
• Compile and distribute cash over/short reports and reconcile credit card ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash from outlets and Front Desk.
• Assist with invoice processing and matching PO invoices for processing.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems and reach goals.
• Maintain strong accounting controls to safeguard assets.

We're currently searching for a Staff Accountant to support this brilliant Finance and Accounting team in overseeing AR, EOM Entries, and P&L Closings.

• Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash, and Adjustment reports daily, distribute to Guidance Team.
• Compile and distribute hotel 'Cash Over/Short' report, & balances credit card ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
• Assist with invoice processing and matching PO's to invoices for processing
• Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
• Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
• Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.
