Job summary

Starwood Hotels is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Finance and Accounting team in AR, EOM entries, and P&L closings. You will audit cash handling, petty cash, and adjustment reports daily, and prepare consolidated deposits for outlets and Front Desk.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AR, EOM entries and P&L closings.
• Perform Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash and Adjustment reports daily.
• Distribute reports to Guidance Team and compile cash/credit ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash from outlets and Front Desk.
• Assist with invoice processing and matching PO’s to invoices.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to drive solutions and meet goals.
• Monitor taxes to ensure they are current or accrued.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets.

We’re currently searching for a Staff Accountant to support this brilliant Finance and Accounting team in overseeing AR, EOM Entries, and P&L Closings. Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash, and Adjustment reports daily, distribute to Guidance Team. Compile and distribute hotel “Cash Over/Short” report, & balances credit card ledgers. Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk. Assist with invoice processing and matching PO’s to invoices for processing Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc. Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued. Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets. (Inside Tip: if you spend your spare time finding the stories behind the numbers, we should definitely talk.)

Hourly Rate: $30 - $35
