Job summary

Starwood Hotels in New York seeks a Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team overseeing AR, end-of-month entries, and P&L closings. You will perform daily audit checks, petty cash, and adjustment reports, and help with invoices and PO matching.

We value numerical fluency, 2–4 years of relevant experience, and flexibility to support a 24-hour operation. The role offers an hourly pay rate of $30–$35 and a collaborative, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a similar function.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
• Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
• A team player, hard worker, multi-tasker and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash, and Adjustment reports daily.
• Compile and distribute hotel "Cash Over/Short" report, and balance credit card ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
• Assist with invoice processing and matching PO's to invoices for processing.
• Analyses information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
• Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
• Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
• Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.

• Compile and distribute hotel "Cash Over/Short" report, & balances credit card ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
