Starwood Hotels is hiring a Staff Accountant in Palo Alto, CA to support the Finance and Accounting team. The role covers AR, end-of-month entries, P&L closings, audit checks, petty cash, and adjusting reports on a daily basis, with responsibility for cash deposits and credit card ledgers.

The position requires 2–4 years of accounting experience, a post-secondary diploma or degree preferred, and flexibility for a 24-hour operation. Equal opportunity employer and team-focused culture.

Responsabilités

• Oversee AR, EOM entries, and P&L closings.
• Audit checks, petty cash, and adjustment reports daily.
• Compile and distribute hotel cash reports and balances of card ledgers.
• Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
• Assist with invoice processing and match PO’s to invoices.

We’re currently searching for a Staff Accountant to support this brilliant Finance and Accounting team in overseeing AR, EOM Entries, and P&L Closings.
Audit Exec Checks, Petty Cash, and Adjustment reports daily, distribute to Guidance Team.
Compile and distribute hotel “Cash Over/Short” report, & balances credit card ledgers.
Prepare daily consolidate deposits of cash received in outlets and by Front Desk.
Assist with invoice processing and matching PO’s to invoices for processing
Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and/or accrued.
Maintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.
