Job summary

Nom Nom is seeking a Staff Accountant in Nashville to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, support cost accounting, and help with inventory reporting. The role offers growth into broader accounting responsibilities within a fast-growing dog-food company.

The candidate will maintain accurate financial records, assist with monthly closes, and work with NetSuite and Excel to produce timely reports. Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.
• Proficient in Excel with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices and record in the financial system.
• Monitor AR emails and respond accordingly.
• Manage collections and clear variances with customers.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with journal entries.
• Reconcile daily bank transactions.
• Prepare standard costing and inventory reporting.

Staff Accountant

Job Description:

The Staff Accountant position will be responsible for the accounts payable, accounts receivable, along with the accounting of these activities. This position will also support cost accounting such as new item costing, standard setting, and inventory control. This individual is expected to grow in the role and eventually take on additional responsibilities within the accounting group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fulfill orders, prepare and process customer invoices, and ensure proper recording in the company's financial system.
• Monitor A/R emails daily and respond accordingly.
• Manage the collections process and work closely with customers and internal team on clearing variances.
• Support accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly and year end close including the preparation of journal entries.
• Support standard costing setup, new item setup, and maintain inventory reporting.
• Reconcile daily bank account transactions.
• Ad hoc reports & assignments as directed by the Controller.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, and/or general accounting.
• General understanding of US GAAP.
• Must have strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP's.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with NetSuite preferred.
