Job summary

Roguesearch seeks a high-visibility accounting professional to join a Top-3 national homebuilder in Myrtle Beach, SC. This role offers exposure to financial reporting, operational accounting, budgeting, and business partnering as you transition from public accounting into industry.

You will work closely with senior finance leadership, gaining hands-on experience and a clear career path toward Assistant Controller or broader leadership roles within a fast-growing division.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent in related field).
• CPA designation or equivalent highly desirable.
• Minimum 3 years general accounting or finance experience.
• Strong Knowledge of accounting theory and practice.
• Very good verbal and written communication skills.
• Very good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility for month end closing process, preparing journal entries, various accounting reports and reconciliations in key financial statement categories.
• Responsible for timely month end closing process and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and cash flow projections.
• Prepare supporting documentation for the Division’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
• Verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications within the financial statements.
• Coordinate accounting matters with other departments within the division.
• Prepare income statement and balance sheet variance analysis for review by the division finance leaders.
• Maintain land project budgets and assists with land department invoice processing.
• Prepare bi-weekly sales commission reports.
• Review of house cost project budgets at least monthly.
• Assist with preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual plans.
• Coordinate work efforts with National Shared Services.
• Assist with internal and external auditors.
