Job summary

PulteGroup, a national top 3 homebuilder and Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, is seeking a Controller, Accounting Manager or Director of Finance to lead day-to-day accounting and financial reporting in Alpharetta.

You will supervise accounting staff, ensure GAAP compliance, prepare monthly reports, forecasts and coordinate audits, partnering with homebuilding leaders. This role offers a collaborative culture with growth opportunities within a long-established company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• CPA License preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years strong knowledge of GAAP, cash flows, financial reports.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises accounting staff to ensure adherence to GAAP, strong internal controls, and adherence with Company policies and procedures.
• Prepares and/or directs the preparation of monthly financial reports, including analyzing budget vs. actual results and reviewing them with management.
• Prepare financial forecasts and coordinates with homebuilding functional leaders to prepare and review.
• Coordinates all internal and external audit requests.
• Delegates work according to employee's abilities and skills; evaluates performance and plans for compensation actions.
• Provides developmental opportunities and coaching to foster employee growth.

What you will do:

• Primary responsibility includes day-to-day accounting, general ledger ownership, and closing the books, along with supporting finance and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or directs the preparation of monthly financial reports, including analyzing budget vs. actual results and reviewing them with management.

• Evaluates employee's performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance.
• Provides developmental opportunities through identification of internal and external training opportunities.
• Creates opportunities for employee growth.
• Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors).

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• CPA License preferred.
• Related Functional Experience: Minimum of 5 years Strong knowledge of GAAP Strong knowledge of cash flows, financial reports, and annual reports.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and manage long-term projects.
