Job summary

Octopi, a Wisconsin-based brewing company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will work closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.

This full-time role offers exposure to GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, and reporting, with a clear path to growth as the business expands. Our team values accuracy, initiative, and collaboration in a dynamic craft brewing environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• 2-year accounting or business degree with 1–2 years of related experience, or a 4-year accounting degree.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, and maintain and investigate general ledger account activity.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and company bank deposits.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• File and monitor tax reporting requirements, and maintain audit-ready accounting records.
• Track purchase orders and reconcile company credit card accounts.

Founded in 2014 as a Wisconsin contract brewery, Octopi Brewing has spent over a decade brewing and packaging beer, seltzers, RTDs, and sodas for clients nationwide. In 2024, Asahi — brewers of Asahi Super Dry — acquired Octopi, making us the U.S. production home of Super Dry. Our Finance team keeps the business side of Octopi and Asahi as sharp as our production side — and the Staff Accountant plays a key role in keeping our books accurate, audit-ready, and on time.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Staff Accountant to support our accounting and financial reporting functions — from journal entries and reconciliations to month-end close — helping keep our financial information accurate and reliable as we continue to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Must-haves:

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail

Nice-to-haves:

• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Experience supporting fixed asset accounting
