Job summary

Aristeo Construction in Michigan is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our projects, customers, subcontractors, and vendors. The role focuses on billing, invoicing, and payments, with emphasis on accuracy and timely processing.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, an associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), and strong Excel/Crystal Reports skills. Viewpoint is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position in Livonia, Michigan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience; construction experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and Crystal Reports; Viewpoint experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day billing process: prepare invoices, code, and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Upload and maintain invoices and supporting docs in portals and systems.
• Process subcontractor payments, including waivers and documentation.
• Support accounts receivable collections and respond to supplier inquiries.
• Complete project closeout items: retention releases, waivers, warranties.

Job description

What You'll Do:

• Manage the day-to-day billing process, including preparing invoices for approval and coding, and ensuring invoices are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
• Upload and maintain invoices and supporting documentation in customer portals and other required systems
• Process subcontractor payments, including pending payments, waivers, and payment documentation
• Support accounts receivable collections and respond to supplier payment inquiries
• Complete project closeout items, including retention releases, waivers, warranties, etc.
• Assist with maintenance of vendor database, including collection of W-9 forms
• Complete month-end and year-end procedures timely and accurately

What You'll Bring:

• Proficient in Excel and Crystal Report Writing
• Knowledge of Viewpoint is preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Superior attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
• Self-motivated and strong ability to follow through

Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 3-5 years of experience working in accounting or a related field; construction experience is a plus
