Job summary

CFS is seeking a Staff Accountant in Lexington, MA, onsite. The role provides hands-on exposure across AP, AR, and general accounting, with emphasis on P21 / Prophet 21 in a high-volume, inventory-driven environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting and have strong AP skills, three-way matching, and GAAP knowledge. This position offers stability with a path to senior accounting roles within a long-standing distribution company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Prior P21 / Prophet 21 experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in distribution, inventory, or high-volume environment is preferred.
• Strong Accounts Payable and three-way matching experience.
• Working knowledge of inventory-related accounting processes.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and GAAP understanding.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day Accounts Payable activity in P21 / Prophet 21.
• Review and process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
• Perform three-way matching and investigate discrepancies involving pricing, inventory, or receipts.
• Maintain vendor files, payment documentation, and required tax forms.
• Reconcile vendor issues and help ensure timely, accurate payments.
• Assist with additional accounting responsibilities and cross-functional projects as needed.
