Job summary

This full-time hybrid role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or a related field, solid GAAP knowledge, and at least one year of staff accounting experience. Proficiency in NetSuite and MS Office is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a staff accountant or in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the general ledger, code invoices, set up new accounts, and close monthly books.
• Reconcile bank accounts, payroll, AR, and other financial accounts; assist in collections as needed.
• File tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies; assist auditors with account information.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and perform full-cycle AP duties.

This is a full-time hybrid role at Nevada Heart and Vascular Center, located in Las Vegas, NV. Nevada Heart and Vascular Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive heart and vascular care. The Staff Accountant is an essential member of the accounting and finance department, responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records crucial for tracking the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations. This role directly contributes to the financial integrity and compliance of the center.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements for the organization.
• General Ledger Management: Maintains the general ledger, codes invoices, sets up new accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconciles bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts, managing accounts receivable collections.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies and provides assistance to outside auditors by gathering necessary account information.
• Accounts Payable Backup: Serves as a backup to the Accounts Payable Specialist, performing full cycle Accounts Payable duties.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance, business, or a related field; knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial best practices.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively, and capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Bonus: CPA / Certified Public Accountant, NetSuite experience
