Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings. This onsite role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and audits, contributing to process improvements under new financial leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, strong Excel skills, and solid experience with GL and reconciliations.

  • Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately.
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable and month-end close processes.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies and variances in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports.
  • Maintain accounting records and documentation in compliance with policies and GAAP.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable analysis as needed.
  • Participate in financial and operational audits by providing documentation and analysis.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests from finance and stakeholders.
  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting activities.

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This position focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and participation in audits, while also contributing to special projects and ad hoc reporting. It offers a long-term opportunity in an environment undergoing positive financial leadership changes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.

Essential Skills

Work Environment

This role is based fully on site in a downtown office environment. The team is operating under new financial leadership focused on improving processes and getting systems and reporting aligned correctly, creating a strong foundation for long-term growth. You will work with standard office technology and accounting systems, including Excel and ERP or accounting software. The environment is professional, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with a focus on accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
