Accountantant/Accounting Analyst

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team in California. This role involves working with government contracts and nonprofit organizations, making it a unique opportunity for individuals with experience in these sectors.

Responsibilities

Manage and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Participate in budget preparation and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and insights.
Support financial operations related to government contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
Ensure timely processing of transactions and maintain up-to-date records in the accounting system.

Qualifications

At least two years of analyst experience, not just processing.
Experience with nonprofit organizations or government contracts is highly desirable, as 90% of the funding is government-related.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 1st shift.
