Job summary

Gramlin, a California-based lifestyle brand, is hiring a Staff Accountant for an on-site role in Desert Hot Springs. You will support monthly closes, cost and inventory accounting, and financial reporting while maintaining GAAP-compliant records.

The ideal candidate has a strong general accounting background, experience with inventories/costs, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. Collaboration with operations and audits is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year end close process
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and balance sheet support
• Assist with cost accounting, including inventory valuation, COGS analysis, production costs, and inventory reconciliations
• Analyze inventory activity, production costs, yields, and cost variances
• Work closely with operations to ensure accurate recording of inventory and production activity
• Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliations
• Prepare financial reports and assist with analysis of account and operating variances
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general accounting activities as needed
• Assist with internal controls and internal and external audit requests
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Assist with improvements to accounting processes, systems, and financial controls
• Work closely with the Assistant Controller and other members of the accounting team to resolve accounting issues and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting with an interest in developing experience in cost and inventory accounting. Experience in manufacturing, cultivation, agriculture, distribution, or another inventory intensive environment is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
• Cost accounting or inventory accounting experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Role Description
