Job summary

You will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and asset management tasks, partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance accuracy and processes.

Qualifications

What You’ll Actually Do

• Month-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries related to the monthly close process, including accruals, reclassifications, and prepaid expenses.
• Financial Reconciliations: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Performance Analysis: Perform actual-to-budget and actual-to-forecast variance analysis, preparing financial analyses and supporting schedules.
• Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset and intangible asset records, recording monthly depreciation and amortization activities to ensure proper asset classification.
• Process Improvement: Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information, support accounting initiatives, and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

The Must-Haves

• Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; this is an early-career accounting professional role.
• Experience: Internship experience, public accounting experience, or 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, including preparing journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and account reconciliations, especially balance sheet reconciliations.
• Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, and an outstanding attention to detail with an commitment to accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience performing budget-to-actual or forecast variance analysis, debt accounting or debt reconciliations, real estate accounting experience, familiarity with SmartView or Workday Financials, or an interest in pursuing professional accounting certifications like a CPA.
