Job summary

AIR Communities, a Blackstone portfolio company, is seeking an experienced accounting professional in Denver to join a fast-paced finance team. The role oversees day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting, partnering with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance.

You will mentor newer hires, improve processes, and manage budgets, forecasts, and analyses. A Bachelor’s in accounting with 4–6 years of experience and strong Excel/GAAP knowledge are

• 4-6 years professional accounting experience preferred.
• Continuing Education (Master in Accountancy, CPA, CMA) preferred.
• Attention to detail and deadline oriented.

Responsibilities

• Performs and monitors the day-to-day accounting and month end close functions. Records financial transactions.
• Prepares, reviews, and distributes financial reports.
• Prepares reconciliations, roll-forwards, and financial analysis.
• Prepares budgets, forecasts, trend analysis, and fluctuation commentary.
• Complies with internal controls.
• Provides financial reporting and analysis to internal and external business partners.
• Identifies opportunities and implements process improvements.
• Acts as Team Leader including mentoring new hires, leading projects, and resolving issues.
• Acts as a subject matter expert for specialized accounting areas/systems, including training and trouble shooting in area of expertise.

Qualifications
