SHP is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Administration team in downtown Cincinnati. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a purpose-driven design firm that values integrity, collaboration, and balance. As a Staff Accountant at SHP, you'll be involved in the day-to-day financial management of the firm, with responsibilities that span accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. We're looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a proactive mindset - someone who takes ownership of their work and contributes to a highly collaborative team. What You'll Do Manage daily accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and account analysis. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and journal entries. Process and maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner. Support internal process improvements and maintain compliance with accounting policies. Provide occasional administrative support as part of a small, cross-functional team. Process and manage payroll with accuracy and confidentiality. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 3+ years of professional accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with accounting systems. High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability. Effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information. A creative thinker who brings fresh perspectives. Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships. Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to step in and support broader business functions. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Deltek Vision or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
