Job summary

Ignite Human Capital LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our on-site team in Chino, CA. You will own core accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, monthly close, and financial reporting, while supporting A/P, A/R, and compliance as needed.

You will work closely with finance leadership, monitor regulatory requirements, and propose process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of accounting experience (internships considered).
• Hands-on with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and quick system learning.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
• Analytical mindset; investigate variances to resolution.
• Clear communication with finance and non-finance teams.
• Discretion with confidential financial information.
• Able to work on-site full-time in Chino, CA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts during monthly close.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and schedules for management.
• Research discrepancies, identify root causes, and suggest corrective actions.
• Review AP general ledger coding in Concur, issue vendor payments, and maintain vendor relations.
• Support accounts receivable and collections, including follow-up and reconciliations.
• Audit supporting documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
• Suggest improvements to accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Monitor federal, state, and local requirements and advise on actions.
• Prepare ad hoc reports analyzing account activity and trends.
• Serve as accounting resource to other departments.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant owns core accounting work across the general ledger, accounts payable, financial reporting, and compliance, and supports accounts receivable and collections as needed. You'll get broad exposure to the full accounting cycle, regular interaction with senior finance leadership, and a clear path to grow as the team expands.

What you'll do

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts as part of the monthly close
• Prepare the balance sheet, income statement, and supporting schedules for management
• Research discrepancies and variances, identify the root cause, and recommend corrective action
• Review and maintain AP general ledger coding in Concur, prepare and issue vendor payments, and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Support accounts receivable and collections, including payment follow-up and account reconciliation
• Audit supporting documentation in preparation for internal reviews and the external audit
• Recommend improvements to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Monitor federal, state, and local financial requirements and advise management on needed actions
• Prepare special and ad hoc reports, analyzing account activity and trends
• Serve as an accounting resource to other departments

What you'll bring
