Job summary

Ignite Human Capital LLC is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to maintain clean books and ensure a timely month-end close. You will work directly with the Controller to keep the general ledger accurate, prepare monthly financials, and manage AP coding and vendor payments.

In this hands-on role, you’ll gain broad exposure to the full accounting cycle within a growing manufacturing environment and have room to grow with the finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of general accounting experience (internships count).
• Hands-on with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
• Highly accurate and organized, with the ability to meet close deadlines independently.
• Curious and analytical, with the persistence to resolve discrepancies.
• Clear communicator who works well with finance and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, and reconcile balance sheet accounts each month.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and schedules for the Controller.
• Investigate variances and discrepancies, find root causes, and recommend fixes.
• Review AP coding in Concur, process vendor payments, and resolve vendor questions.
• Support accounts receivable, including cash application, follow-up, and reconciliation.
• Prepare documentation and schedules for internal reviews and external audits.
• Help improve accounting procedures and internal controls as the company grows.
• Track regulatory and tax requirements and flag needed actions to management.
• Build ad hoc reports and analysis for finance leadership and other departments.

Pay: $26-$32/hour, depending on experience (non-exempt, overtime eligible)

Reports to: Controller

The opportunity

It's a hands-on role with broad exposure to the full accounting cycle at a growing manufacturer, and real room to develop as the finance team expands.
