Job summary

Addison Group in Centreville, VA is seeking a detail-oriented GL Accountant to manage daily and monthly reconciliations, close processes, and balance sheet accuracy in a hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least three years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Research and resolve reconciling items by tracing transactions to source documentation.
• Maintain detailed support for deposits in transit, outstanding checks, ACH activity, bank fees, and other cash-related items.
• Assist with daily cash reporting and cash flow forecasting.
• Monitor cash activity and support treasury-related initiatives.
• Utilize banking platforms to research transactions and support reconciliation and reporting activities.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, and other assigned accounts.
• Investigate account variances, aging reconciling items, and unusual transactions.
• Recommend and process appropriate corrective actions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and close documentation.
• Ensure assigned close responsibilities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
• Maintain general ledger accounts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.

Assignment Type: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $85,000 annually

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
