Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is partnering with a large privately owned warranty and vehicle protection organization to hire an Accountant for its rapidly growing P&C insurance business in Boca Raton, FL.

The role supports month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting within a lean, seasoned Finance and Accounting team. You will gain exposure to complex insurance accounting environments and have the opportunity to advance toward CPA qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, public accounting or similar complex environment.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• CPA progress or interest welcomed and supported.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with financial reporting and account analysis.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Work closely with teams across Accounting, Treasury, AP, AR and Financial Reporting.
• Help strengthen accounting processes, controls and reporting capabilities.
• Take on increasingly complex assignments as the insurance business grows.

Accountant - Growing P&C Insurance Business

Location: Boca Raton, FLHybrid: Three days onsite following an initial 90-day training period

We are partnering with a large, privately owned warranty and vehicle protection organization to hire an Accountant for its rapidly growing P&C insurance business.

The wider organization employs approximately 300 people and operates across 34 separate entities, creating a dynamic and complex accounting environment. This position offers the opportunity to join an established Finance and Accounting function while gaining broad exposure within a growing insurance carrier.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with financial reporting and account analysis.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Work closely with teams across Accounting, Treasury, AP, AR and Financial Reporting.
• Help strengthen accounting processes, controls and reporting capabilities.
• Take on increasingly complex assignments as the insurance business grows.

What We're Looking For

• Previous accounting experience within insurance, financial services, public accounting or another complex business environment.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
