Batson-Cook seeks a Staff Accountant in Atlanta, GA to support month-end close, journal entries, and audit prep. The role involves job costing, tax filings, and managing credit card expenses while maintaining strong internal controls and relationships with clients and teammates.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2–4 years of experience, including job costing. Knowledge of Viewpoint software is a plus, and there may be travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing material for annual external audit.
• Participates in month-end close process.
• Prepares journal entries for job costing and general ledger.
• Calculates and files sales & use tax for multiple jurisdictions.
• Set up and close new jobs in the accounting system.
• Manage company credit cards.
• Balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and employees to maintain relationships and resolve conflicts.
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values.
• Follow the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Maintain professional, respectful, and cooperative relationships within the team.
• Willingness to travel, if required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Assist in preparing required material for annual external audit
• Participates in month-end close process
• Prepares journal entries for both job costing and general ledger
• Calculates and files sales & use tax for multiple jurisdictions
• Set up and close new jobs in the accounting system
• Manage company credit cards
• Various balance sheet account reconciliations
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values.
• Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with the position’s schedule and operational needs.
• Maintain professional, respectful, and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and others to support effective teamwork and business operations.
• Must be willing to travel, if required.
